the Nyora Light Series

Just a snippet from the beginning of my manuscript...

In a blind rant, the prophetess said:

"The seventh daughter of the seventh daughter with heavenly blood in her veins, will rain down destruction on the earth below. The heavens will fall, realms will clash and the underworld will ignite in icy flames. Beware she who bears the white mark."

Crumbling to the marble floor, the prophetess convulsed with words spilling like lava from her lips.

Strength returns to its rightful heir, power building within
The witching hides in shadow, hunted by her kin
Breaking down the barriers scorned by anger and hate

Well, on 18 September 2014, I sent my first query letter, synopsis and 10+ pages of my manuscript to Writers House. It was the scariest damn thing I've ever had to do. That little sucker has been my every breathe for god knows how many years and it's going to hurt like hell if it gets rejected. But, that's what we do right? We put ourselves out there. Now, we play the waiting game.

And then...

On the 4th November 2014, I got rejected. Argh, the humanity! Nah, not really. It's all good. I'm more resilient than I thought I was, didn't hurt at all. On to the next agent to query.

And then...

Sent my manuscript off to Dyste & Goderich on 23 March 2015 (yesterday). The thing that sux the most, is that I received the form rejection email today, 24 March 2015, less than 24 hours later. I get it, they're busy, but, I was under the impression that they took the time to read from the slush pile. There's no way the literary agent I forwarded my manuscript to would have read it that quickly, not when they receive hundreds to thousands a day.

Anyways, that's my little rant for today. I guess I'll try another agent. Self publishing sounds more appealing everday... more of the profits, less gate keeper approval., but, no physical book on the shelves at the local shopping center.
